What is Remote Data Entry?
Remote Data Entry (RDE) is a section of the Federal Finance System (FFS). RDE allows field stations to process a variety of different financial transactions remotely from their office. With RDE you can enter the following types of documents into the FFS:
- Undelivered Orders
- Modifications
- Payments
- Redistributions
- Credit Card Adjustments
- Prior-Year Recoveries
To see the steps in how to do any of these types of transactions, click on the button on the menu on the left side of the screen.
Benefits of RDE
- The field processed undelivered orders immediately. The day the document is approved, the FFS Tables are updated.
- Payments are processed on a timely basis resulting in satisfied customers, fewer late payment penalties, and opportunities to take advantage of discounts.
- The field has more control over documents. There is less chance of losing or misplacing documents.
- The monthly reports are more accurate since undelivered orders and payments are processed promptly.
- The field stations process fewer redistributions.
