TEC7116 - Logging System Design for ES Field Stations

This course helps participants learn how to implement the “TAILS” Tracking and Integrated Logging System, with associated GIS components, at a typical FWS Ecological Services Field Office (ESFO). The training is specific to ESFO applications, including the logging of Section 7 consultations, project planning permit reviews, contaminant activities, and other office activity data – and the geographical attribution and display of this data.  Topics include system navigation, data standards, data entry, file maintenance, report generation (including GPRA), and GIS integration.

College Credit None
Who Should Attend: FWS Ecological Services staff biologists, GIS and computer support personnel, data entry/office automation clerks specifically responsible for implementing and supporting the Tracking and Integrated Logging System, and any staff member responsible for logging information into or deriving information from the system.
Objectives:

*Learn the components of the “TAILS” Tracking and Integrated Logging System;

*Successfully navigate, enter data, and produce and export reports (and maps) using the Tracking and Integrated Logging System; and

*Learn how to integrate tracking and logging system data with GIS for an ESFO.
