TEC7156 - Internet Advanced Development for Fish and Wildlife Information

Internet Web pages are an important tool for communicating and exchanging fish and wildlife information. Internet users are demanding better designs, more reliable and accurate information--all at the touch of a button. Participants in this course will learn how to meet these challenges and keep up with changing technology by creating and maintaining advanced Web sites. Participants will learn about podcasting, RSS feeds, cascading style sheets, site management and reporting, and web site usability.
College Credit 1 semester hour
Who Should Attend: FWS and other personnel responsible for developing Internet resources and Web sites. Participants must have intermediate-level experience using Dreamweaver software.
Objectives:

* Describe DOI and FWS policies, procedures, and web standards;
* Create a podcast;
* Distribute content through RSS feeds;
* Add video to web pages;
* Optimize photos used on web pages;
* Use web site reporting tools; and
* Create and use cascading style sheets.
