College Credit:  1 semester hour.

Who should attend:  Any FWS Fisheries Program employee with basic computer and Internet skills.

Length:  2.5 days/20 hours

Objectives:         At the end of the training, each participant will be able to:

  • Describe the connection between the FIS data, the Fisheries Strategic Plan, performance measures, and the budget formulation process;
  • Explain the connectivity of the modules within FIS;
  • Access and navigate FIS, use "quick tricks" to speed up data entry and retrieval, and access online FIS tools and guidance, such as tutorials, "Help Desk", and standard business practices for FIS;
  • Write relevant, accurate, and succinct FIS projects;
  • Create summary reports relevant to Field Station, Regional, and Washington reporting requirements; and
