A collaboration between Indiana University and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 1, Region 3, and NCTC.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 31 to December 11, 2010
2:30 to 3:45 Eastern Time 1:30 to 2:45 Central Time 11:30 to 12:45 Pacific Time
This graduate-level course is a companion to the FWS document “Conservation in Transition: Leading Change in the 21st Century.” It pulls together world-renowned speakers in a weekly forum to present information and provide an opportunity for practitioners and Indiana University students to discuss environmental trends and conservation tools for the future. The course schedule is posted below. The general format is a presentation on Tuesdays and a discussion about assigned readings on Thursdays; however, we will depart from that schedule occasionally to meet the needs of presenters. Readings and calendar updates will be posted at http://sharepoint.fws.net/regions/r3/r3cc/2010iufws/default.aspx. Please save this link. It provides detailed information about the course and speakers, and will be updated weekly.
The August 31, 2010 session is primarily for the Indiana University graduate students, but feel free to drop in if you are interested in learning more about the course organization. Tomorrow’s session also provides an opportunity for you to get familiar with web-conferencing system if you have not used Live Meetings before. No substantive material on conservation topics will be presented or discussed.
Please feel free to attend as many sessions as you like. No registration is required until you log into the Live Meeting online system. Call-in and log-in information is presented below. This information is the same for every session. Contact marilyn_williams@fws.gov if you have trouble logging into the Live Meeting System.
