Every employee has the right to have a position description that accurately reflects actual assignments.
|Knowing the content and requirements of their position description.||
Explaining to subordinate employees the duties, responsibilities, and other requirements contained in their position descriptions.
Generally informing employees of the basis upon which their positions are classified to promote mutual understanding and to provide a firm basis for employee performance evaluation and career development.
|Bringing to the supervisor's attention any major change in duties and/or responsibilities not reflected in their present position description.||
Preparing and revising position descriptions as necessary to ensure that they accurately reflect the major duties and responsibilities assigned to subordinate employees.
Initiating requests for personnel actions to reflect major changes in the organization of the work of subordinates.
|Assigning valid duties and responsibilities to all positions under their direction to ensure economical and efficient work distribution commensurate with the skills and abilities of employees and overall mission objectives.|
|Cooperating in administrative reviews of position descriptions, periodic maintenance reviews, and other position classification initiatives as specified in this chapter or as directed by the Service, Department, or OPM.|
