|Course Title||Conservation Biology - Independent Study
This course provides students with the opportunity to earn1-credit in Conservation Biology through a self-paced independent study project under the direction of the instructor. The independent study project will involve research and completing an in-depth analysis of how the concepts and principles of Conservation Biology can be applied and incorporated into a conservation management program.
Once students enroll during the registration period, October 1, 2013 - May 1, 2014, Brenda Hooper will send them an email confirming the conditions and expectations of the independent study project, including timetable, structure of the final report, and criteria for evaluation.
Pre_Requisite:Individuals who have already completed CSP 2101 Applied Landscape-Scale Conservation Biology (formally titled CSP 2101 Introduction to Conservation Biology) within the last five years are eligible for this course.
Length: 15 hours over 8 weeks. College Credit: 1 Semeser Hour.
The combined 3 Conservation Biology credits from completing CSP2101 Applied Landscape-Scale Conservation Biology and CSP2104 Conservation Biology – Independent Study are in compliance with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service requirements for the Wildlife Refuge Management Series (0485).

Objectives:By the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
•Apply concepts of Conservation Biology to their own conservation management projects
•Conduct an in-depth analysis of an on-going conservation management program
• Develop objectives and strategies for modifying an on-going conservation management program
Tuition: Tuition for USFWS, Bureau of Land Management, and National Park Service employees is prepaid; tuition for all others is $200.
