The course familiarizes the participant with the Service's responsibilities and opportunities under the FWCA. Course content focuses on the relationship of the FWCA to other legislation, the types of assistance the Service provides, standard formats for FWCA reports and methods for developing project costs, cooperative agreements and project recommendations.
Objectives:
Describe the general spirit and intent of the FWCA; Summarize the Service role and opportunities to influence water resource development projects; List the four basic requirements of the FWCA process and their application to Federal activities; and Identify the basic content and purpose of FWCA reports.
Target Audience:
Staff whose responsibilities include coordinating water resource development projects and writing FWCA reports.
