|Course Title||Introduction to Natural Outdoor Learning Areas
Join us as we highlight a variety of natural outdoor learning areas within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service designed to connect youth with nature. During this engaging webinar series, participants will be introduced to different outdoor learning areas through live presentations and interviews with FWS employees and our partners. This webinar series supports the USFWS’ Connecting People with Nature and the DOI’s Youth in the Great Outdoors Imitative of engaging, educating and employing youth.
1. Identify at least three types of natural outdoor learning areas within the FWS
2. Explain how natural outdoor learning areas support the FWS priority of Connecting people with nature and the DOI’s Youth in the Great Outdoors Initiative
3. Describe the benefit of working with various partners to assess, design and implement natural outdoor areas
4. Create an Action Plan by outlining next steps and resources to help plan/implement a natural outdoor learning area at your site
Target Audience: Project managers, Resource managers, Visitor services professionals, formal/non-formal educators, outdoor recreational planners, anyone whose resource management efforts would be enhanced or supported by youth initiatives.
