The workshop is designed to bring together technical, legal, economic and policy experts to provide participants a comprehensive understanding of the program's policies, structure and basics of the science involved in sampling, analysis, and data management, which support the NRDAR case.

College Credit:  2 semester hours

Who Should Attend:  Personnel from Department of Interior who have attended the introductory Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration course and are involved in damage assessment and restoration activities.

Length:  4 days/32 hours

Objectives:  By the end of this session, the participant will be able to;

  • Identify recent developments in NRDAR policies and regulations;
  • Obtain and manage funds for performing NRDAR and restoration activities;
  • Apply current methodology for assessing injury and establishing damages;
  • Explain the legal issues and practical considerations that effect case management;
  • Apply effective communication and negotiation skills necessary to successfully manage a NRDAR case; and
  • Identify and evaluate options for planning and implementing restoration.
