    Special Items to Bring:

Please bring basic supplies with you, including pencils, pens, highlighters, and paper. Additionally, you may want to bring a Federal Express mailing label with your office account number to mail your course binder home. NCTC dress is business casual; however, please bring appropriate clothes/shoes/boots for field sessions. To help prevent the spread of invasive species on the NCTC campus, please ensure that all field equipment, including footwear, is free of dirt and seeds before leaving home.

Since this is a writing course you will be spending lots of time writing. NCTC will provide you with a laptop unless you prefer to bring your own.  You should plan on bringing work-related writing samples with you (including current assignments, recently completed work, and a variety of samples to make a “portfolio” from which to use during editing practice and other exercises).  The more samples you bring, the better your experience will be in the class.
