Before the course begins we would like you to read one document as an introduction to NEPA.  Also, particularly for FWS staff, we would like you to check a few web sites so that you have a sense of where to find resources that may be helpful in the future. Under “Current Developments”, please click on “CEQ Published a Citizen’s Guide to NEPA”.  Please read this document before class.  It will give you an overview of NEPA
in an easy-to-read format.

Look at the list on the left and scroll down to Policies and click.
Click on Service Manual and scan 500, 600, and 700 series.
Note: Large portions of the Manual are not online but the portions pertinent to this training are online.

Return to Policies and click on Director’s Orders.

Return to Policies and click on Handbooks.  Scroll to National Environmental Policy Act Reference Handbook.  Click on Draft Manual Chapters.  Then Go Back and click on Table of Contents.
