Please bring appropriate field clothing and sturdy boots, rain gear, water bottle, sun-screen, and sunglasses. Our area is experiencing a record number of Lyme Disease diagnoses. You can help protect yourself by wearing light-colored long pants, socks, and closed toed shoes. We are making insect repellent with 25% Deet available to you, but you may want to bring your own. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we will be on field trips. Onsite guests will receive a bagged lunch. Commuters, you will need to bring a bagged lunch. Be prepared to hike on and off the trail in steep terrain. If you have medical or health issues that would prevent you from hiking for 2 to 3 hours, please let me know in advance so we can try to provide you the opportunity to participate within your ability.
If you have a clinometer and a day pack please bring it with you. We will be providing bag lunches during our field trips and we suggest that you pack it in a day pack. - **To help prevent the spread of invasive species on the NCTC campus, please ensure that all field equipment, including footwear, is free of dirt and seeds before leaving home. |
