Jerry and Beatrice Guadagno and
Family
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Guadagno and Family:
I want to express my heartfelt
condolences on the loss of your son, Richard, on United Airlines flight 93
that crashed in Stony Creek Township, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 11,
2001. I did not know Richard personally but I have the greatest respect for
the proud and dedicated public service he rendered as the refuge manager for
the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge in California and in all his previous
positions in the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
The events of last Tuesday will
never be forgotten and the Nation owes a great debt of gratitude to Richard
and to all of the many brave victims of that horrific day. On behalf of all
the members of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations and
all members of Congress, let me assure you that our hearts and prayers are
with you as you deal with the loss of a fine son, a worthy public servant,
and a truly great American.
Sincerely,
Joe Skeen
