USFWS Employee Foundations

USFWS Employee Foundations course is an integral part of the New Employee's Orientation (NEO). Along with a regional orientation and an office orientation, Foundations rounds out the new employee's introduction to the USFWS by providing an overview of the Service and its principles of consultation, communication, collaboration in the effort of conservation. Foundations provides a basis in interpersonal skills critically needed to accomplish our mission of working with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

The Foundations course is 4.5 days at the NCTC campus, Home of the FWS. Foundations is mandated for all permanent, two-grade interval employees within their first year with the FWS.

The course requires employees to compete an online orientation to the Congressional and federal budget processes. Access the Pre Course Work here.
