Overview

The USFWS is a bureau within the Department of the Interior under the Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks. Click here to review the Department's Organization chart. http://www.doi.gov/secretary/officials_orgchart.html

The USFWS is comprised of the Washington Office, 7 Regional Offices and the California Nevada Operations (CNO) Office.

The Directorate consists of the Service Director, the Service Deputy Director, the Regional Directors, the CNO Manager and the eleven program Assistant Directors in the Washington Office (WO).

The Deputies Group consists of the Deputy Regional Directors (DRDs), the CNO Deputy Manager, and the eleven program Deputy Assistant Directors (DADs) in the Washington Office (WO).

The Washington Office (WO) organization differs somewhat from Regional Office organization, but all eleven program areas of the WO are in every regional office. Contact your Regional Office (RO) for a copy of your region's organization charts.

As representatives of the Service, all employees are encouraged to learn about the programs of our agency. Most program home pages include an "About Us" link. This will provide a general overview of the program. To begin your review of the programs click here.
