Laws

Congress has passed and Presidents have signed into legislation numerous wildlife conservation laws designed to help conserve our natural resources. The Service has a responsibility to carry out these laws, sometimes with other federal agencies. Our Law Enforcement program upholds and our various program offices comply with these laws. These are commonly referred to as Resource Laws.

Our business, technology, procurement, safety, engineering programs comply with federal laws all agencies must comply with. These are referred to as Administrative Laws.

No matter where you work, there is a set of laws that govern your program. Our Congressional and Legislative Affairs Office monitors Congressional activity concerning existing Acts and upcoming legislations. From their website, you may access any of the laws that apply to our agency.
