Noah Williams

  • Noah Williams began work as an FWS maintenance worker at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in 1971 through the “Work and Train” program. During his long career (1971-2001), Williams’ duties included patrol work, conducting biological surveys, and visitor outreach. Williams’ infrastructure work at the refuge included construction on the headquarters and auditorium, remodeling the visitor contact station, trail maintenance, and dune restoration. Williams was beloved by both the staff and visitors at Chincoteague and his legacy lives on in the Noah Williams Conference Room at the refuge visitor center. In a very real sense Noah Williams helped build Chincoteague NWR.
