Message from NCTC Director:
Welcome to the June 2021 National Conservation Training Center Website. Our two eaglets in our NCTC eagle nest have fledged and summer heat is here, and our training programs continue to go full bore!
Our website also has great information on how to sign up for current NCTC virtual training and bring your organization to NCTC when we open again, post-pandemic.
We have a great schedule of training and programs for you to engage in this month, including: Tribal Broadcast Series: Subsistence Hunting and Fishing in Alaska; Restoration Webinar Series: Sustainable Strategies for Thorn forest Restoration Along the Lower Rio Grande; Forests for the Birds: Blueprint for Success – How and Where to Focus Bird Conservation; Pollinator Ecology and Conservation Webinar Series: Pollinators 101/Ecology of Pollinators; and historian Char Miller will join us on the 24th to discuss" Biology, Conservation, and the Administrative State in Late 19th and early 20th Century America".
Make sure to check out the NCTC Course Guide for our June, July and August programs. The Guide contains a description and list of courses by subject area. The course pathway's function suggest to you a progression of courses to help you gain proficiency in a subject area. Click on the different pieces of the guide to find pathways for your career.
We have been planning carefully for the reopening the NCTC campus. Right now, we are looking at a soft opening with limited capacity in September of 2021. Stay tuned for more details as our planning continues.
The light is at the end of the long tunnel! I will be excited to welcome you back to our beautiful campus soon!
